Manchester United sign Di Maria in English record transfer deal

Manchester United have smashed the British transfer record with the £59.7million signing of Angel di Maria from Real Madrid.
Di Maria, 26, joined the Red Devils on a five-year deal after passing a medical on Tuesday.

The Argentinian winger's signing eclipsed the previous British transfer record of £50m, which Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres in 2011.

The fee also betters the £37.1m sum United paid for Juan Mata in January.
