The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions has
called off the summon issued to the Chairman of the Code of Conduct
Tribunal CCT, Danladi Umar. The committee on Monday April 18th, summoned
Danladi to appear before them on Thursday April 21st, to answer
questions of corruption leveled against him by an anti-corruption group,
Anti Corruption Netwrk led by Senator Dino Melaye.
The committee withdrew the summon after a meeting at the National Assembly today April 20th.
Many believe that the summon was to distract Danladi from the ongoing daily trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki who is being accused of false declaration of assets while he was governor of Kwara state.
