Armed Robbers Device New Means Of Robbing People This Christmas Season

As Christmas approaches, desperate armed robbers in Benin City, the Edo State capital have devised a new means of robbing people as they are now disguising as evangelists to gain access to private residences under the pretense of preaching the gospel.
Three of the armed robbers were unlucky as they were caught at Evoutubu, a suburban settlement in the city after gaining access to a block of four flats at about 9am yesterday, December 8.
One of the robbers had insisted on raping a female occupants and in the process, another occupant managed to escape and raised an alarm which attracted neighbours who pursued and caught them.
The armed men would have been set on for but for the quick intervention of policemen from Evoutubu Police division who were on patrol in the area.
Confirming the incident, the Edo State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Noble Uwoh, urged the residents to be wary of persons they allow into their homes in whatever guise.
