'I’ve Been In The Kidnap Business For Years' – South Africa Bound Suspect Confesses


Okwudili Nnagbo, a kidnap suspect, who was fleeing Nigeria to South Africa was paraded yesterday, June 4 at the the headquarters of the State Anti-robbery Squad, Awka, Anambra State.

Okwudili who was arrested last month, at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja while trying to board an aircraft to South Africa said during interrogation that he had been in the kidnapping business for many years and had lost count of the number of persons he had kidnapped in the past.
According to him, he had decided to quit the business after a relation of his in South Africa invited him over.

Unfortunately for him, he was nabbed while attempting to flee the country.
Okwudili was paraded alongside 13 other suspects apprehended for various offences they committed.
Also paraded were Chukwudi Chinedu from Okija, and Kevin Obi from Umuzu who allegedly raped the pregnant wife of a man they robbed of N66,000 and Uba Christian Chukwuemeka from Oji River in Enugu State who had been involved in the kidnap of female students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka where he enrolled for a diploma programme few years ago.

Others include a robbery gang, Onyeka Ozoigbo, a vulcanizer, and Harrison Amaukwu caught with 85 telephone handsets stolen from various people.

Various arms and ammunition recovered from the suspects were displayed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka.
