Two young ladies were arrested last Monday, June 2, by the
plainclothes police detectives attached with Ogidi Police Division for
allegedly practicing lesbianism in a beer parlour in Amanbra State.
According
to the police, the suspects, Chioma from Umudioka in Dunukofia council
area and Amaka, were caught while indulging in the unholy act in a beer
parlour belonging to one of them at No 5 Isingwu Street, off Central
School road, Nkpor Agu, Idemili North Local Government Area, Amanbra.
The
ladies were accused to have gone contrarily against the bill that
prohibits homosexuality and lesbianism in all parts of the country.
However,
one of the suspects confessed to the crime but stated that her act as
the handiwork of the devil. "Please, one of my sisters is staying in her
shop at Ochange Market and I don’t have her phone number off head.

again," she pleaded.
It was gathered that the members of
homosexuality and lesbianism family in the state are now mobilising
funds for legal luminaries to make sure that their members in police
incarceration did not appear in court. Reportedly, they even tried to
offer money to the police but the no-nonsense Divisional Police Officer,
SP Isah Mohammed, has turned down their offer.
Divisional Police
Officer, Mr. Isah Mohammed, who confirmed the arrest stated that this
matter must go to court. The DPO went further to urge any interested
persons to go and wait in the Court where they can seek for the bail of
